Sessan Cup 2025 - Event Announcement - Dutch Folkboat Club - Nederlandse Folkboot Club

The Dutch Folkboat Club (in Dutch: Nederlandse Folkboot Club) is excited to announce that the Sessan
Cup 2025 will be take place in the Netherlands from September 18th to 20th – 2025.
The event will be hosted by The Royal Dutch Sailing and Rowing Association (KNZ&RV) located in
Muiden.
Before the Sessan Cup, the Dutch Open Nordic Folkboat Championship will be held during the
Zuiderzee Regatta on September 13th and 14th at the KNZ&RV. International participants are warmly
invited to join this event, which serves as an excellent warm-up and preparation for the Sessan Cup.

The KNZ&RV has a rich history and has played a significant role in the
development of water sports in the country. It was instrumental in founding
the Royal Netherlands Watersport Association and the Royal Dutch Rowing
Federation. The KNZ&RV is known for its commitment to promoting sailing
and rowing and is a trusted and well know yacht club for many sailing classes
for having their class events organised. Besides being the homeport for the
Dutch Royal family, the KNZ&RV offers;

   buoys.
3. Within walking distance of the charming and historic city of Muiden and the Muiderslot.

6. All necessary facilities for lifting Folkboats from their trailers.
7. Parking available for trailers, cars, and campers during events.
   The racing area will be located between the harbour of Muiden and Forteiland Pampus on the IJmeer.
   Forteiland Pampus, an artificial island near Amsterdam, was constructed in the late 19th century as
   part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site designed to protect the city
   from naval attacks.
   The Sessan Cup will be awarded to the 2-boat team that is classed the highest after the races. Racing
   in both events will be conducted under the NFIA rules, with white sails and whisker poles. All
   participants need to bring their own boat. The NoR will be available on Manage2Sail in the coming
   weeks.
