There are two international events which the NFIA is directly involved in and manages location selection:
Gold Cup
The Gold Cup is considered the ‘unofficial’ World Championship of the Nordic Folkboat Class. It is held every year and moved from venue to venue to ensure the key countries are able to host this prestigious event. The event regularly has seen participant numbers from 50-75.

Sessan Cup
The Sessan Cup is a two boat team contest. Each country can select teams or different fleets within a country organization. The winning team is the best results in a regatta series of up to 7 races. It is raced as a normal yacht racing format, with the best two teams results cumulating in the overall team winner.
It is organized every two years.
The last Sessan Cup was held in April 2014.; organizing club was the "Seglervereinigung 1903" in Berlin - Germany.
The next event was held in the UK during September 2025. It was hosted by the ROYAL DUTCH SAILING & ROWING CLUB,
