1. Agenda & opening
• Agenda was circulated and accepted.
2. Minutes Procedure
Decision:
• Official minutes will be short and decision-focused
• Published minutes will include:
• Topics discussed
• Decisions made
• Action points
3. Measurement & Measurers
• National Associations must formally request NFIA approval for measurers.
• NFIA does not search for or appoint measurers.
• Requests must come with official nomination from the National Association.
Decision:
• Approved measurers will be maintained in a consolidated list and on website
Actions:
• National Associations to submit formal requests.
• Lennart to send current measurer list to Simon.
• Simon to publish the list on the website.
4. Racing Calendar
Decision:
• NFIA website will provide links only to National Association calendars.
• Responsibility for accuracy and updates remains with National Associations.
Actions:
• Simon to publish links
5. Gold Cup 2026 – Travemunde
• Organisation is well advanced with approx. six months remaining.
• Dedicated Gold Cup website is live.
• Close integration with Travemunde Woche.
• Programme published and largely final.
• Strong engagement via WhatsApp and social channels.
Action:
• German organisers to distribute Gold Cup information to National Associations.
6. Gold Cup 2027 – Hanko (Finland)
• Preparations underway.
• Sponsor search ongoing.
• Event expected to be successful and combined with Finnish Nationals.
7. Future Gold Cup Strategy
Agreed principles:
• Attractive venues in key locations to encourage strong numbers
• Strong organisation
• Engagement from host clubs
• Destination value for sailors and families
Decision (in principle):
• Explore proactive outreach to potential host clubs.
• Develop clearer venue selection guidance.
8. Gold Cup 2028 – Early Discussion
• UK currently the only formal applicant.
• Sweden and Denmark identified as strong potential regions.
• Marstrand highlighted as a world-class venue.
Actions:
• Lennart to contact Swedish National Association.
• If positive, initiate discussions with Marstrand.
• Report back at next meeting.
9. Sessan Cup 2027 (85 Year Anniversary)
• Denmark identified as preferred host.
• Kerteminde suggested as ideal venue.
• Proposal to align Sessan Cup with Tibbe Cup (late August).
Action:
• Steffi to contact Per regarding Kerteminde and coordination.
