30th July - 4th August, Kalex Yacht Club, Tallinn, Estonia hosted the 2023 Nordic Folkboat Gold Cup for the first time. It proved to be a very successful event with 56 entrants representing 7 countries.
A massive congratulations go to FIN 300 'Ella' sailed by our Vice Chairman Stefan Westerlund, with the crew Staffan Lindberg and Thomas Hallberg. This is the first time a Finnish team have taken the title.
Going into the final race, any one of 5 boats could win this most prestigious title (the un official world championships for Nordic folkboats). In the end 'Ella' withstood the pressure to win by two points from GER 739 'Ylva' sailed by Ulf Kipcke, Dieter Kipcke and Gero Martens. The final podium position went to DEN 873 'Cirkeline' sailed by Soren Kaestel, Erik Anderson and Cecille Hansen.
